Sunshine on my skin.
The weather is great. The kids are bare legged and smeared in sun lotion. It’s hot and we don’t get many days like this. Only my ankles, wrists and collarbone are fit to be seen. Everything else is fat and white and needs to be hidden away. It is not good enough. But when no one is looking I shrug off my black cardigan because I am uncomfortably hot. I feel the sun lick the back of my neck, and between my shoulder blades. It feels good.
Maybe I do deserve sunshine on my skin.
